This game was made over the course of 3 days by me and a friend, with me taking on a large portion of the programming tasks. We both wanted the experience of creating a game as part of a team with limited time, recreating game jam style conditions.
Most of the game was created within 72 hours with an extra day of work needed to add a menu and to clean up some errors. We wanted to create a finished game with a beginning, middle and end.
Developed using Unity and C#, the project helped us learn more about Unity as well as the problems that can occur using GitHub to synchronise work between two people.
You are stranded on a desert island and need to repair your rubber dinghy. The game was inspired by Candy Box, as you collect resources and find new items, new characters and areas of the game are revealed. You must speak to other characters to find new items, explore a cave through a text adventure system, and gather resources in order to make it home.
